Release Date: 08/04/2020

On Tuesday 7th April, Darren Staniforth from NICEIC & ELECSA hosted a webinar with external experts from the Federation of Small Businesses and the ECA, providing registered contractors with some advice and guidance on the Government Support available.

Over 730 contractors registered for the Webinar with over 100 questions asked covering topics on:

·   Government Support Packages

·    How to access the Support

·    Furloughing

·   Bank Loans

·    HMRC & Tax Returns

·   Contract Rights

·   Universal Credit

·    Insurance

The webinar can be watched back for anyone that missed the live event or for those who would like to listen again, please click here to watch at your leisure.

Unfortunately, the panel were unable to answer all questions live, but NICEIC & Elecsa are working with the Federation of Small Businesses and the ECA to provide some further clarity. We would like to encourage our contractors to review the resources available on their websites:

·       Federation of Small Businesses COVID-19 support pages

·       ECA COVID-19 support pages

With Government Guidance and the support available being updated regularly, NICEIC & Elecsa would recommend that you view the websites and social media channels of the following organisations: UK Government, NHS, HSE, ECA, Federation of Small Businesses, HMRC to name but a few.

Finally following the feedback from the event, NICEIC & Elecsa will be looking to organise further Business Support Webinars with panel members from other organisations who can provide support and guidance in these unprecedented times. More details will follow and be published on our website and social media channels.
